My friends playing their weekly Age of empires II game

Its a hardware defect. I have the same problem with my Dell XPS 15 (L502x). Something about shoddily applied thermal paste. If you opt to not get it fixed, your heatsink is probably going to die (as did mine), and then youll need to get the entire motherboard replaced (although youd still have to anyway because of how the laptop is built). Even then, it will start having problems again after a month or so because Dell doesnt learn from its mistakes... Does yours have a Nvidia GT540M? Apparently only the models with that specific video card have the crashing problem (the sound "screeches" after crashing, right?). Protip: Smell your fan. Mine worked for about a month after I initially purchased it (July 2011) before it started crashing while playing games. I ignored that. In January 2012 the fan started making weird noises, and speeding up/slowing down over and over again. Dell said that was normal. The fan also smelled like burning plastic. Then one day when I turned it on, the system no longer recognized the video card and as such I couldnt play ANY games. After a week Dell acknowledged it was a hardware issue and had me send it in. They replaced the entire motherboard, as the video card, heatsink, and fan were all dead. A month after I got it back, the crashing started again. I dont know how much longer the laptop will last now, as I am not on warranty, but I built a much superior desktop in December so I honestly dont care anymore... On an unrelated note, I havent been using this laptop all that much, and suddenly the left-click button on the trackpad doesnt work anymore. I havent even been using the damned thing.
